Sports card show benefiting local Special Olympics coming to Martin

SPORTS CARD SHOW BENEFITING SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF UPPER WEST TENNESSEE

MARTIN, Tenn. – A sports card show featuring an extensive array of sports cards, ranging from  vintage classics to the latest releases will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at the Martin  Public Library Event Center at 410 South Lindell Street in Martin from 9 am to 2 pm. Engage  with renowned dealers and collectors who will share their insights and expertise. Whether you’re  a seasoned collector or just starting your journey, this is the perfect opportunity to gain  knowledge and discover hidden gems. Collectors and enthusiasts alike will have the opportunity  to explore and acquire cards that span various sports and eras. This highly anticipated event  offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of sports card collecting. The event is an  opportunity to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics of Upper West Tennessee.  Funds raised from the sports card show will benefit over 400 athletes in Special Olympics  activities in Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry, and Carroll counties. 

The mission of Special Olympics of Upper West Tennessee is to provide year-round sports  training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with  intellectual disabilities. The experience gives participants continuing opportunities to develop  physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills  and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Full  participation is granted to every athlete regardless of his or her economic circumstances. The  ultimate goal of Special Olympics is to help persons with intellectual disabilities participate as  productive and respected members of society at large by offering them a fair opportunity to  develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition.
