Shooting investigation underway in McKenzie

MCKENZIE, Tenn. — An early morning shooting in McKenzie leaves one seriously injured.

According to a press release from McKenzie Police, the department received a call of shots fired in the area of Bertha Street around 4:52 a.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, police say officers found a male victim who had been shot in the torso.

Police confirm the victim was transported by air to be treated for his injury. No further information on his status was shared at the time of the release.

The press release states a mid-size SUV was seen in the area just before the shooting.

According to the release, no suspects have been identified and an investigation remains ongoing.
