Senator Blackburn talks law enforcement doxxing bill, Medicaid concerns

JACKSON, Tenn. — We spoke with U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn about a new bill that would protect federal law enforcement, Medicaid and SNAP benefits, and her potential run for governor.

The bill would make it illegal to “publish the name of a federal law enforcement officer with the intent to obstruct a criminal investigation or immigration operation.”

It comes after the actions of Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell and his office publicly released the names of law enforcement officers last week.

Meanwhile, patient rights and hunger group advocates are urging her to vote against proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP benefits.

Senator Blackburn says “What we are doing is strengthening Medicaid.”

“There are no cuts,” Blackburn stated. “What we are doing is rooting out waste fraud and abuse, and removing the ability of fraudsters, freeloaders, illegal immigrants to have the benefits and services that are there for American citizens who deserve these benefits.”

Senator Blackburn says “these programs will be stronger and healthier than ever before.”

Blackburn also says her team is “strongly considering running for governor.”
