Positive Living Group hosts event honoring National Grief Awareness Day

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local group is hosting a special event in honor of National Grief Awareness Day.

The Positive Living Group presented its “Missing You” grief awareness event at Liberty Park in Jackson. It kicked off at 4 Saturday and continued until 5:30p.m.

The event allows for those dealing with loss to unite with others in one huge event of remembrance.

This year guests could enjoy entertainment from Gospel Explosion, DJ Byron Cheney, Carita Cole and EJ Shelton.

There was also free food available and an opportunity to take part in a live butterfly release.

“We want people to be able to remember and acknowledge their loved ones without stigma and fear of feeling like you have to move on or go on. We want people to be comfortable that it’s okay to grieve,” said Twana Miller, owner of Positive Living Group.

National Grief Awareness Day is observed every year on August 30th.
