With cooler weather approaching soon, is it time for an HVAC upgrade?
JACKSON, Tenn. — The U.S. Department of Energy data says high-efficiency HVAC upgrades can cut annual costs by up to 20%.
As cooler temperatures set as we get later into the year, many homeowners are taking a closer look at their energy use and repair costs.
There are federal incentives for HVAC upgrades that total to $3,200, but these expire at the end of the year.
Experts say now is the time to review your system and consider improvements.
Sarah Riley, the Director of On Demand Strategy for Frontdoor Inc. tells us what we should look for.
“The other big one to keep in mind for HVAC especially is if you’re smelling something that’s burning, or one of those electrical smells,” Riley said. “That could be a sign that there’s a deeper wiring issue or something that you would really want a professional to come help with.”
The credit also applies to qualifying windows, water heaters, and certain insulation projects.
