Scotts Hill community buries time capsule

SCOTTS HILL, Tenn.—A local town celebrates 200 years by burying some treasures from the present.

The town of Scotts Hill buried a time capsule Saturday afternoon at 2p.m. in the City Park located at 110 Hwy 14 South.

Residents were invited to contribute items to the time capsule which will be unearthed 50 years from now.

Items to be included were photos, letters or drawings on acid free paper.

These items were placed in a vault and then buried on site at the park.

Guests in attendance were given the opportunity to shovel dirt onto the capsule area.

The event’s special guest was the honorable Coach Michaela Walters along with her daughter Rowan.

The plan is for the time capsule to be removed from the ground in 2075.
