What’s New Wednesday: The Plant Shop
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Plant Shop opened in Jackson this past August, specializing in both rare and common house plants.

Owner Diana Cotten tells us whether you’re an expert grower or just beginning to get a green thumb, they have something for you.
“We offer any kind of house plant that you want. If you’re even looking for a special house plant, we try to search and find it. We also use local growers,” Cotten said.

Along with exotic types, shoppers can find low maintenance varieties like snake plants and ZZ plants, or Cotten’s personal favorite: philodendrons.
Cotten also offers a reworking service, where she will take on plants that need a new home, as well as potting services at no cost for customers.
“If you come in and you buy a plant, you buy a pot, we pot the plant for free,” she said.

Cotten tells us she was inspired to open the shop after needing a home for her own plant collection when she moved to a smaller space. She temporarily housed her collection at another business she runs – Commercial Cleaning Group – and when a nearby suite became available, The Plant Shop blossomed.
And if you prefer to shop from home, Cotten also offers an online shop with in-store pickup available.

Cotten tells us she is always happy to give advice and help find the perfect plant to fit your needs.
“Customer service is our number one thing,” she said. “Whenever somebody comes in and shops with us, I want them to feel like they’re at home. That they feel comfortable, that they can talk about a plant. If they don’t know about a plant, then they can actually bring that up in conversation, we can help them find exactly what they need.”

The Plant Shop is located at 219 North Parkway, Suite 6 in Jackson.
They’re open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. However, Cotten says if you’re not able to make it in during those times, reach out and she may be able to make special arrangements.
