JACKSON, Tenn. — Black Friday is finally here, and the shops around Jackson were just as busy as expected.

The low temperatures did not stop the shoppers from trying to find the best deals. While some people have a list and know what they are looking for, others are just out having a good time.

“No, I’m just out. Me and my friends have been doing this for about 10 to 12 years just doing it as a tradition. So nothing specific,” said Bethany, a shopper in the Hub City.

For a full day of shopping, many people decided to start early to make sure they do not miss anything throughout the day.

“Six o’clock. Well I got up at five to be ready by six. All the stores,” said Christina Vaughn. Kohl’s, Walmart, Hobby Lobby. Just going to see who has the best deal.”

We all know that Black Friday is not what it used to be, especially with deals going on for multiple days. One of our shoppers told us what they experience.

“Everybody’s oddly so polite,” said Bethany.

Many people enjoy the convenience of getting more sleep, not having to get to the stores before midnight, and not having to brave the crowds. With the ability to shop online, what we used to know of Black Friday seems to be in the past. However, some people wish they could have the old Black Friday back.

“I’m just out trying to find a good deal. I miss whenever 2020, that was the best Black Friday of the year. No, before 2020 when everybody used to elbow over towels and DVD players and stuff,” said Bethany.

Although it was a little on the cooler side early in the morning, it was a beautiful day filled with laughter, smiles, and hopefully a lot of savings.
