‘Fairytale ending’ caps study for UCES first-graders
UNION CITY, Tenn. – Union City Elementary School first-graders celebrated their study of fairytales in a “Royal” way.
The students capped the Knowledge Domain with a magical day, celebrating with a ‘Royal Ball’ in the school cafeteria. Many of them – along with their teachers – dressed as their favorite fairytale characters, bringing the stories they’d studied to life as they danced and enjoyed the moment of the learning series.
Throughout the unit, students explored classic tales including Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Frog Prince.
The fun-filled celebration also included a special tea party snack as laughter, imagination, and joy permeated the room.
“The fairytale unit is one of our students’ favorites, so we really wanted to celebrate it,” UCES first-grade teacher Angie Conley said. “We love combining fun with learning and creating core memories that our students will carry with them.”
“It was truly a fairytale ending to a wonderful unit!”
