Beth Bolton began her career in Jackson as a travel agent at the age of 19, in the good ol’ days of actual handwritten airline tickets.

Her love of travel and her knowledge of hospitality led her to working in the hotel business for the past 20 years, most recently having worked for two of the biggest global brands in the industry— Hilton and Marriott.

Bolton spoke about the upcoming 70th anniversary of the release of Carl Perkin’s “Blue Suede Shoes”.

Many businesses around Jackson will support the “Blue Sueded Trail”, a trail inspired by the rockabilly style of Carl Perkins.

“Some of it you have to purchase tickets to, and some of it is free admission, but there is something for everybody and you can check it out at www.bluesuedeweekend.com,” said Bolton.

There will also be four artists performing a concert, along with other activities such as a Q&A session with one of the relatives of Carl Perkins.
