The city released its 2026 Street Resurfacing List to us on Tuesday. The list covers roads across the city from larger roads to neighborhood side streets with exactly where they plan to repave.

The city also categorized a Top 10 Street Priority List.

The city has listed a section of Ridgecrest Road Extended to be top priority which means it will be one of the first in line to get fixed. The section of the road that is planned to be repaved is from Dr. F.E. Wright Drive to Highway 70.

A section of Ridgecrest Road is also on the top priority list. The city plans to repave this road from Campbell Street to Highland Avenue.

Another street on the priority list is Skyline Drive. This road is set to be repaired from Bruce Street to Hospital Drive.

There are seven other sections of roadway that are set to be repaired on the priority list. Those include: a section of Bemis Lane, Demonbreun Drive, a section of Lexington Avenue, a section of McClellan road, a section of Phillips Street, a section of Wallace Road, and a part of Washington Street and Taft Alley.

Even those these roads are priority, they are not the only ones set to be resurfaced. Other sections of roads like Cheyenne Drive and Rushmeade Road are set to be repaired.

According to the city, they have invested $10 million into the project and it will be conducted by expert contractors and the city’s public works crew.

We reached out to the mayor for a comment on the road priorities and his office said he was unavailable.

We also reached out to the city’s public works department and they said it had nothing to do with them and directed us to the city’s engineering department.

We then reached out to Chris Coughlin with the engineering department and he was unavailable for a comment.

In a Facebook post from Tuesday, Mayor Scott Conger said, “So we’re taking this one step at a time. Staying consistent. Making progress each year instead of falling further behind.”

Mayor Conger also said in his Facebook post “this list isn’t everything, but it’s a step forward. And we’re going to keep building on it.”
