Hot air balloon full of people makes emergency landing in couple’s backyard

TEMECULA, Calif. (CNN) – A California couple got quite the surprise when a hot air balloon full of people made an emergency landing in their backyard.

Hot Air Balloon

Thirteen people were on board the hot air balloon that unexpectedly landed in Hunter Perrin’s backyard Saturday morning in Temecula.

“Hi, everybody,” Perrin greeted them in video of the moment. “How’s your guys’ trip so far?”

He can also be heard marveling over the sight of the balloon.

The pilot told Perrin and his wife that the wind died down, so he was forced to make an emergency landing.

“I’m surprised you guys missed the trees,” Perrin’s wife said.

The crew refueled the balloon in Perrin’s yard then flew it over the house to the street, where it could be dismantled.

No one was hurt during the incident.
