Memphis man charged in church crash that killed 2

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Prosecutors say a Memphis man who crashed his car into a church building, killing two of his passengers, has been charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The Shelby County district attorney’s office said Wednesday that 28-year-old Terryell Scott was indicted on 14 criminal counts.

Investigators say the crash took place in the early morning hours of April 6.

Authorities say Scott’s 2002 Hyundai left the roadway and struck the N-Sight Christian Center, killing his passengers, 26-year-old Marcus Walton and 27-year-old Dontae Coleman.

Online court records do not show if Scott has a lawyer who can comment on the case on his behalf.
