Search continues for Noah Chamberlin, TBI assisting
PINSON, Tenn. — Law enforcement and first responders continued their search overnight for 2 year-old Noah Chamberlin.
Hundreds of volunteer and civilian searchers showed up Saturday morning to assist after being sent home Friday night. But according to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office Facebook, they are now holding off on using untrained civilian volunteers Saturday. Officials said they may be utilized later in the day.
During the day and night Friday a number of volunteers suffered minor injures during the search. Organizers blamed it on tough terrain in the more than 600 acres being searched.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation and search, according to Tom Mapes with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The TBI has set up a command post at the Pinson Fire Station and is working together with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office to help find Noah.
Noah reportedly went missing around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, which is helping with the search. Noah was reportedly on a nature hike with his grandmother and 4-year-old sister in the woods behind their home when he disappeared. The grandmother told officers she was paying attention to her granddaughter for a moment and when she looked up, Noah was gone.
Noah is described as a white male with blonde hair and blue eyes, standing about two feet tall and weighing about 25 pounds, according to a TBI release. The boy was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
