Groundbreaking Held For New Kirkland Cancer Center

JACKSON, Tenn. – There are 1,400 cases of cancer diagnosed every year in the Jackson-Madison County community and the new Kirkland Cancer Center will bring the cancer community together. Friday, was the groundbreaking of the Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center. The Kirklands donated $5 million to jump start the center. The 85,000 square foot facility will have 42 infusion bays for chemotherapy treatments, a healing garden and chapel. Carl Kirkland said his battle with cancer changed his attitude. “It realigns your thinking to know that truly it is better to help someone else rather than to help yourself and that realization comes and is a gift from having cancer,” said Kirkland Kirkland says the Jackson community deserves to have the same level of care as they would get in a metropolitan area.
