JACKSON, Tenn.- One special mother got a big surprise at Jackson’s Regions Bank, when fundraisers unexpectedly donated more than $4,000 to her son’s autism foundation, Wednesday. Organizers who helped raise money in the Sadie Lou Bike Run and live auction for autism held last April, handed mother Goldie M. Ross a check for $4,900, Wednesday. The donation was made out to the Kevin Jr. Autism Foundation. Kevin Jr. is Ross’s 22-year-old autistic son whom she recently started the foundation for. Organizers said the money was originally raised to go towards the Autism Solutions Foundation. Fundraisers said they decided to donate all of the proceeds to Kevin’s mother who participated and helped raise money at their event. “The gratitude that I have, well my heart is very heavy right now so for somebody to do this for my son and this foundation that I believe in it’s amazing it’s just awesome,” said Goldie M. Ross. “What we are going to do with this foundation next, we are going to pay it forward.” Ross said she plans to use the money to give back to local families who are struggling with autism. Organizers with the Sadie Lou fundraiser said from now on their annual autism bike run fundraiser will benefit the Kevin Jr. Foundation.
