UPDATE: U.S. Marshals offer reward for safe return of missing East Tenn. girl

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. — The U.S. Marshals Service is now offering a $2,500 reward for the safe return of Carlie Marie Trent and for information leading to the apprehension of Gary Simpson.

Carlie Marie Trent Amber AlertCarlie was taken from her Rogersville school Wednesday under false pretenses by Simpson, her uncle by marriage, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Simpson has no custodial rights to Carlie.

The two are believed to be in a white 2002 Dodge Conversion van with Tennessee registration 173GPS. The van has a dark stripe down the middle with light gold running boards and has paint chipping off the hood.

Carlie is described as a white female, is four feet eight inches tall and weighs 75 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and gray tank top and blue jeans.Amber Alert van

Simpson, 57, is described as a white male standing five feet ten inches tall and weighing 157 pounds. He is balding and has brown hair and eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown cap, a dark colored shirt and jeans.
