Weather Update – 11:30 p.m. Thursday
Scattered showers centered around a low pressure system in Texas will continue to be possible overnight and could be present across West Tennessee early Friday morning. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with temperatures just dropping to the middle and upper 60s by sunrise at 5:41 a.m. Friday morning.
FRIDAY
There’s a 40% chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday with a weak cold front nearby. We’ll continue to see partly to mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures in the lower to middle 80s. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds could come with any thunderstorms that develop.
THIS WEEKEND
A stronger cold front will arrive on Saturday bringing a likelier chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms for the start of the weekend. Heavy rain could lead to localized flash flooding, and a few thunderstorms could become strong producing gusty winds and small hail. The risk for severe weather on Saturday however, is very low. By Saturday evening, 1-2″ of rain fall are possible across West Tennessee. Lower amounts may end up in northwest Tennessee.
Drier weather will move in behind the cold front on Sunday. This means slightly cooler temperatures, clearer skies, and less humidity are expected for the start of next week. Stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the very latest updates to this forecast.
Have a great day!
