Body of Lenoir City man recovered from lake
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office confirms the body of a missing boater has been recovered in Fort Loudoun Lake.
According to the Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/16xbOf9 ) a member of the man’s family, who did not want to be identified, said the victim was 75-year-old Tony Heitzman of Lenoir City.
Sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Upton said searchers found Heitzman’s body early Tuesday, not far from the Shady Grove boat ramp. His boat had been found drifting there.
Upton said it appeared Heitzman launched his boat, went back to his truck and noticed the boat was drifting out, so he went into the lake to secure it.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is working the incident as a boating accident.
