Construction to Halt on Roads for Labor Day

JACKSON, Tenn.- Travelers on Tennessee roadways will not be hampered by highway construction on the state’s interstates. TDOT has ordered that construction stop until 6 a.m., Tuesday. Triple-A Auto Club of the South has projected that more than 591,000 Tennesseans will travel by car this Labor Day holiday. That’s an increase in travel over last year’s numbers. Workers can still be on site in some work zones, so obeying reduced speed limits is still required. Additional police officers and state troopers will be on duty over the holiday to enforce speed limits and look for problem drivers.
