Windy And Wet Tonight
Weather Update: Monday, January 8 —
Clouds are increasing over West Tennessee as expected. A major winter storm is ramping up over the Plains. As the storm deepens further it will create quite a tight gradient which will lead to sustained winds of 15-25 mph along with gusts 35-45 mph. The winds will not be a result of thunderstorm, but rather the surface low pressure which is still well to the west in NE Texas. Rain will eventually overspread the area, likely after 3-4;00 PM and continue through the evening, tonight and Tuesday until the surface cold front slides east of the region later Tuesday Evening. A wind advisory will go into effect at 3:00 PM nd will remain in effect through Wednesday Morning at Midnight. Not expecting many storm tonight, but an embedded storm or two will be possible along with couple claps of thunder. However, the main story will be the wind driven rain.
