Pet of the Week: Ringo

Here is our Ringo!

14424803_729051070576800_692476017539846100_oDowntown Dogs discovered Ringo’s brother under a house, dying. We rushed him to the ER vet but it was too late to save him. Since we know how deadly and contagious parvo is, they knew almost certainly Ringo would come down with this deadly disease. The owners, who simply did not know about parvo, willingly surrendered Ringo to DD so he could get medical treatment. As DD suspected, he broke with parvo and for several days, his life hung in the balance. He was hospitalized for 5 days receiving IV fluids and medication. It was touch and go, but they knew Ringo just had to live to make up for the sad and horrible death of his brother.

He is a fighter and pulled through and he is now fully recovered and ready to find his forever home.
This big boy is a flat coated retriever mix and is about 40lbs and around 6 months old. He’s full of personality and he’s been waiting patiently for his forever home while he also recovered from mange. He knows basic commands and is kennel and house trained. He gets along great with his foster brothers, a dog and a cat.

How can you resist this adorable baby with such a sad but triumphant story? If you think Ringo would be the perfect fit to complete your family, please visit www.downtowndogsgroup.org and fill out an adoption application.
