Mental Health Action Day encourages communities across the globe
JACKSON, Tenn. — Take action! The fourth annual Mental Health Action Day is on its way, taking place on May 16.
Showtime and MTV entertainment studios gives grants to non-profit organizations working in communities to educate, encourage and empower people to take actions to improve their mental health.
The mental health crisis touches every community across the globe and this year’s call to action on Mental Health Action Day is to dedicate time to social connection, whether that’s connecting with oneself, participating in a community event, or trying the new A.S.K. digital experience to better learn how to help a friend.
“Our favorite part of Mental Health Action Day is really just seeing how it takes a life of its own and how people use the different tools at their disposal to really take action on this day,” said Rachael Terrell, Senior Director at Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios.
This movement is powered by a growing coalition of more than 2,000 non-profits, brands, government agencies, and influential leaders from more than 32 countries that spread the message that, just like physical health, we can take actions to improve our mental health.
