City of Jackson announces hiring of new human resources director
JACKSON, Tenn. — The City of Jackson is pleased to announce the hiring of Kelsea Merriweather as the city’s new human resources director.

Merriweather is a Jackson native with almost a decade of human resources experience.
She most recently served in employee relations with Ford Motor Company at BlueOval City.
Merriweather is passionate about workforce planning and implementing initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Human resources is responsible for supporting the city’s employees, from the police department and fire department to public works and parks and rec.
“It’ll be our responsibility to continue to hear the voice of our city employees. How can we continue to advocate for them but also give them the support that they need, you know, through technology, through data and just continue to move our department forward but, of course, continue to support them,” said Merriweather.
Merriweather currently serves on the Board of Directors for ‘Keep My Hood Good’, and the University of Memphis-Lambuth Alumni Board. In her spare time, she demonstrates her passion for singing as the praise and worship leader at Greater Visions Church.
