Following new felony charges, Jason Autry faces prison time again

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jason Autry, was sentenced Monday and is facing more than a dozen years in prison for a crime he committed in 2020.

Jason Autry, one of the three people who were of interest to law enforcement during the investigation of Holly Bobo’s murder, was sentenced Monday for a crime he committed in 2020.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, on December 3, 2020, only three months after Autry’s release from prison, a Benton County deputy observed Autry lying down in a field.

For a reason not specified in the statement Autry was searched for weapons and the deputy found none. Autry left the scene on foot.

After Autry left, the deputy found a Marlin 30/30 in the location where Autry was lying in the field.

Autry, a felon, was prevented from possessing a firearm.

The statement says, the deputy secured the firearm then returned to his patrol vehicle and followed Autry.

The deputy asked Autry about the rifle and Autry told him he was using it to deer hunt, and attempted to hide it when he noticed the deputies patrol vehicle.

According to the judgment, Autry received three federal charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Autry, who has a history of prior convictions, including aggravated burglary, burglary, theft over $10-thousand dollars and manufacturing a controlled substance was sentenced to 19 years in prison to be served concurrently.

After his release from prison, he will then serve 5 years of supervised probation.
