Exchange Club Awards Scholarships

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Jackson Exchange Club awarded two, $1,000 scholarships to recent high school graduates, Tuesday. Kelsey Hosford was one of the winners. The Madison High School graduate has enrolled in Union University. The scholarship, awarded since the 1950s is given out to a student in Jackson-Madison County who is attending a local school. Each winner is chosen based on academics, involvement and financial need. Hosford offered advice to future applicants. “Work hard do as much as you can. enjoys high school but really work hard because it dows pay off,” said Kelsey Hosford, Exchange Club Scholarship Winner. The second scholarship recipient, Victor Comer, II, a North Side graduate was unable to attend. New Jackson superintendent Dr. Verna Ruffin also spoke to the civic group.
