Hub City Speed’s autocross returns to the dragway
JACKSON, Tenn.—Car enthusiasts race against the clock at the Jackson Dragway.
The fourth autocross meet of the year was held today.
The event invites locals who want to test out their maneuvering skills to hit the track.
A unique track is set up by Hub City Speed members to allow participants to check out their vehicle’s speed and handling abilities.
Vehicles are separated into five classes including, front, rear, and all wheel drives, trucks and super unlimited.
Prior to hitting the track, vehicles are inspected for any safety concerns.
Drivers must also be at least 16-years-old, have a valid driver’s license, and are required to wear seat belts and helmets.
If participants meet all requirements, they are allowed to take their vehicle on the track to race against the clock.
The autocross meets are held once a month and continue rain or shine.
“You could show up here in a Corolla straight off the lot. I mean we’ve had pickup trucks out here. I’ve seen everything out here. So, if you want to have fun in your car and try to hone your driving skills, come on out here, it’s a great event,” said Travis Dykstra, participant.
The next autocross event is set for August 18.
