Jackson-Madison County School Board election: Who’s on the ballot?

JACKSON, Tenn. — Before making your way to the polls, here’s what’s on the ballot for education.

Voters will have the opportunity to vote for 3 different positions in the Jackson Madison County School District.

DISTRICT 2 CANDIDATES

The Madison County School Board District 2 has two candidates. This position covers East Elementary and Nova Early Learning Center.

Glen Gaugh and Kenneth Newman are the candidates on the ballot.

DISTRICT 5 CANDIDATES

Another school board position is District 5, position 2.

This district covers Alexander, Andrew Jackson, Arlington, Jackson Central Merry Early College, Madison Academic High School, and Community Montessori school.

Two candidates are running for this position: Marica Moss and Dwight D. Jones.

DISTRICT 6 CANDIDATES

Lastly, District 6, position 1 is on the ballot.

This position covers Jackson Careers Technology, Isaac Lane Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Parkview Learning Center, Rosehill and Whitehall.

Brandilynn Taylor, Andrea Michelle Givens-Moore, Winnette Bobo, Rebecca Creasy, and Janice Hampton are all vying for the spot.

Early voting will continue until Saturday July 27 at 309 North Parkway.

Monday through Friday, the times are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Election day will be Thursday, August 1. The voting polls will be open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
