Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s is returning to West Tennessee
HALLS, Tenn. — An annual walk to end Alzheimer’s is coming up in Halls.

Held near the police department in Halls, ‘Walk the Block for Alzheimer’s‘ is this Saturday, August 10.
The event involves a car show, more than 50 vendors, multiple food trucks, a petting zoo, and inflatables.
This is in addition to the walk itself which begins at 10 a.m., following registration, which is at 9 a.m.
There will also be a shortcut available for older community members.
Event organizer Amy Gammel shares how it feels to raise research funds for Alzheimer’s.
“It’s very humbling. I lost my aunt, it’ll be nine years in September, she had it for ten years and I gave her my commitment that her fight would be my fight and that I wouldn’t give up,” said Gammel.
Gammel says she feels a responsibility to keep the life and legacy of her aunt alive.
The upcoming event is free to attend, though donations are very welcomed.
