Attempted Bank Robbery in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson police are investigating the attempted robbery of a bank. At 11:45 a.m., police were called to the First State Bank on Carriage House Drive. Investigators said that the suspect handed a note to the teller stating that he had a bomb. He left the bank without getting any money. The suspect is described a white man wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, khaki pants and black shoes. His age range is mid 20s to early 30s. Witnesses said he is tall, with brownish-blonde, spiked hair and was wearing sunglasses. He was seen leaving the area in a gold-colored Honda Civic, two-door, with lightly tinted windows. No direction of travel was known. We will have more details as they are released.
