Rain, Cooler Temps Coming Soon

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

A few rounds of rain have made their way through West Tennessee this morning and afternoon. More scattered showers and maybe some storms could move through the region for the rest of the weekend. We have the latest right here.

SUNDAY:

A round of rain and storms is possible in the early afternoon for some of our eastern counties. The latest models put the best rain in the Nashville area, though some pockets with this system could get heavy at points, accumulation is looking low. Temps will remain in the low-90s to upper-80s.

Sunday Rain

LABOR DAY:

The ground may be soggy in places, but there won’t be any new rain falling on Monday. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper-80s with some humidity. The early evening hours are looking perfect for cookouts if you want to avoid the worst of the humidity, although the early afternoon won’t be as bad as Sunday.

TUESDAY ONWARD:

Another cold front will push through the area on Tue/Wed. and again the chance for showers and storms will return to the area. Also on the way are below average temperatures. Some highs Thursday may not make it to 80. The temperatures will remain that low into next weekend,

TROPICS:

Two disturbances are on our eye, one that popped up today and the one that we’ve been watching for the past couple days. The new one, along the Gulf Coast, only has a 20% chance of development. It will likely make landfall before developing into a depression, but could still bring high rain totals to the TX/LA coast. The second disturbance has a 40% chance of development, but looks to make landfall in Southern Mexico or Central America.

Tropics

Meteorological Fall starts tomorrow, Sunday September 1st. Cooler temperatures are on the horizon and we are switching to a La Nina pattern. Enjoy your Labor Day Holiday!
