TN River BBQ Fest set for Sept. 27-28 in Saltillo

TN River BBQ Fest returns to Hardin County: in Saltillo, TN

TN River BBQ Fest
The 2024 TN River BBQ Fest is set for September 27-28 in Saltillo, TN!!! Join us on the banks of the beautiful Tennessee River! Over $14,000 will be up for grabs in a battle for Grand Champion!
This Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS) sanctioned cook-off event will be held in the Town of Saltillo, Tennessee, at the intersection of Main Street (Hwy. 69) and Shoreline Drive, on the bank of the beautiful TN River. Along with being a KCBS sanctioned BBQ contest, the TN River BBQ Fest is also a state championship BBQ contest. Over 20 BBQ teams have entered including cooks from Colorado, Illinois, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee.
Ancillary Contest Open to the Public
On Friday night, there are three ancillary contests held which are open to the public to participate. There are Kids Que (hamburgers), Dessert, and Margarita contests. The entries must be made on-site. Several of the professional teams participate in these contests as well. Entry fee for the public is $10. First place receives $50 and is announced at the awards program on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Sign up for these contests is at 5 p.m. on Friday. Kids Que turn in is at 7 p.m.; Dessert turn in is 7:30 p.m., and Margarita turn-in is at 8 p.m. at the Judges Tent.
BBQ Tasting: People’s Choice – Public Food Sampling
Be sure to attend the People’s Choice event on Saturday morning (11:00 a.m.) and sample some of this great award-winning BBQ from the champions, then vote for your favorite! Winners of the People’s Choice Awards will be announced at 3:30 p.m. Saturday during the competition awards.
Corn Hole!!!
New to this year’s event is a corn hole tournament to be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the stage area.
Admission to the BBQ grounds is FREE!
Come enjoy great fun and the heavenly smells of some of the best BBQ in the country. Local food trucks are on site Friday night and Saturday to please all your taste buds! Live music begins on Friday afternoon starting at 4 p.m.
