Students visit Pinson Mounds for ‘Archeofest School Day’
PINSON, Tenn. — An annual event returns to educate and enthrall. Friday was the 42nd year of the Pinson Mounds Archeofest School Day.
Students gathered at Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park to watch performers and demonstrators.
There were also special activities geared toward a younger audience.
The Archeofest continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
“People of all ages will be able to come out and enjoy both music and traditional dance and animal programs. There’ll be hayride wagon tours, archaeological tours of the site, a little bit of something for everyone,” said Tim Poole, park manager.
The family oriented Archeofest is the second longest running consecutive event in Tennessee state parks.
