Teams gather for 2nd ‘Swinging Fore Hope’ golf tournament
HENDERSON, Tenn. — One local golf tournament helps raise money for those in need.
Held Monday at the Chickasaw Golf Course, the second annual ‘Swinging Fore Hope’ event raised money for the Patient Needs Program at the Kirkland Cancer Center.
There were a total of 250 donors and 47 teams that registered to play.
The Kirkland Cancer Center serves residents of West Tennessee, offering hematology and oncology services.
“So this initially started–I was diagnosed in September of 2021 with stage 4 and, if it wasn’t for Kirkland Cancer Center, I would not be here and so we, me and David here at Chickasaw, have put a lot of effort into raising money for the Kirkland Cancer Center and are very passionate about it,” said Ann Marie Kelley, board member for the Kirkland Cancer Center.
The event raised $155,000 as of Monday.
