Henderson County Sheriff’s Department hosts resource fair

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department hosted a resource fair Friday.

The event was held at First Baptist Church in Lexington and several different agencies were present. The goal was to provide information and resources to inmates, released inmates and family of inmates. From job help to education and recovery, people were able to learn about help available in their area and beyond.

Families of inmates were also able to see what’s offered to inmates during incarceration as well as after they are released. Plus, the Tennessee River Pirates food truck was also present with some great food.

“Addiction doesn’t discriminate so everybody that’s in this area right now, or in this building, is somebody that can help. And networking, we want to network all the agencies together to work together to implement good, positive resources for everyone,” said Vickie McComic, reentry coordinator.

This was the first Henderson County Sheriff’s Department Resource Fair and the event will be returning next year.
