United Way of West Tennessee Accepts Donations to Aid in Disaster Relief Efforts

Jackson, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2024) – To aid in the disaster relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Helene, United Way of West Tennessee is currently accepting donations that will later be transported to local United Ways in the East Tennessee Highlands and Unicoi area, along with Greene County. Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 hurricane, swept through the Gulf Coast of Florida and traveled through portions of Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia late last month.

Disaster Relief

Items needed are water, batteries, empty gas jugs, trash bags, flashlights, camp stove fuel, first aid kits, N95 masks, gloves, paper plates, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, tarps, buckets, can openers, and tools for cleaning debris, such as shovels and rakes.
