Investigation Continues in Mason Wreck that Killed a Toddler

MASON, Tenn. — The Tipton County Sheriff‘s Office is investigating the Mason car crash that killed a two-year-old girl on Saturday. The deadly crash happened on the 700 block of Charleston-Mason Road in Mason. The preliminary results of the investigation reveal that three children were playing in the yard when an infant began crying inside the residence. The mother, Ginger Hinnard, 30, went inside to check the infant and moments after heard squealing tires in the roadway. Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the car crash, and the Tipton County Sheriff‘s Office and the Department of Children‘s Services is investigating the situation surrounding the supervision of the child prior to the deadly crash. Detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation Saturday. The other children, ages 4 and 10 years of age, were unhurt in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
