Jackson native returns to speak at Lane College
JACKSON, Tenn. — One local college enjoys the days leading up to the big kick off by inviting one Jackson native to chapel.
Dr. Tara Rawls Jenkins spoke at Lane College during their chapel Wednesday. Jenkins says this is her homecoming too because it feels great to be back home.
She also says that Lane College taught her about the love of HBCUs. Her sermon was on walking worthy to where you have been invited to serve. Jenkins wants students and guests to walk where they are supposed to in their journey.
“I want everybody to know that no one is exempt from process, no matter where you are in your journey, it’s a process. The butterfly was once a caterpillar and so, wherever you are in your journey, just keep going forward and you will see the results,” said Dr. Jenkins, author and speaker.
On Saturday, October 19 at 2 p.m., Lane College’s football team will play against Central State University.
