WBBJ team says goodbye to anchor/reporter Diamon O’Daniel

After more than two years of bringing the latest news to the West Tennessee community, anchor/reporter Diamon O’Daniel is signing off.

Diamon’s dedication to telling people’s stories, along with her inspiring generosity and phenomenal personality, has touched us all here at WBBJ, as well as our audience at home.

Before she moves on to her next journey, we had a few questions for Diamon as we look back on her time with WBBJ.

What’s your experience been like reporting in West Tennessee?

I had a positive experience, in each role. I started here in August 2022 as a reporter and was blessed to move into the role of producer and anchor. I have had the privilege of meeting so many people, from viewers, to politicians, and business owners. I was also able to share the stories of so many, like the weekly segment in Black History Month this year.

Do you have a favorite memory or moment from covering stories?

I was able to interview many kids throughout my tenure and it was always sweet to see their confidence grow when they finished the interview. Also meeting viewers while on stories was always so sweet!

What have you gained from your time at WBBJ?

Over the last two years, I have grown skills in confidence, communication, writing, and so much more.

What would you say to the viewers who have supported you?

Thank you! The viewers have truly been amazing, and kind. They have impacted me with their support in numerous ways and I will always hold those memories close.

Diamon anchored her final show on Good Morning West Tennessee Friday morning. Join us in wishing her an extra-special send off and the best of luck as she takes her next steps!
