UPDATE (11/13/24): Former sheriff’s deputy faces multiple charges after killing 7 dogs
MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — Two McNairy County residents are mourning the loss of their dogs after a shooting on Monday, November 4.
It is alleged that former McNairy County deputy, Conner Brackin, shot and killed a local resident’s dogs on November 4. The former deputy responded to a call of abandoned animals in that area.
Kevin Dismuk, owner of the home, who didn’t want to appear on camera, shares that the home belongs to him and his wife.
Dismuk says “Although he can not prove the deputy walked inside his home, he believes the deputy walked inside and fired outside his home.” His neighbor also reported that he heard the shots and was startled by the number of gun shots.
Brackin has resigned from his position with the McNairy County Sheriff’s Office.
“Why, without trying to contact the people that own this place, do you just take it upon yourself to stand out here and shoot into my home and kill my animals,” said Dismuk.
Dismuk says there is no money or value that he can put on his dogs. He and his wife loved those dogs and say they were like children.
