Teens Accused of Robbing Man Then Going to School Appear in Court

JACKSON, Tenn. — The teens accused of robbing a man at gunpoint then heading off to school had their first court appearance today. Forensics are currently being done on 16 and 17 year olds to be determine if the two are mentally sound. The teens are still being held in the detention center and have no previous criminal records. Their next court date will be on September 11 if the forensics are done by that time, and September 16 if they are not. The DA is requesting that the pair be transferred to adult court, and this will be determined at the next hearing. One of the teens is facing an additional count of tampering with evidence.
