Madison County Commission allocates $2 million for JMCCS
JACKSON, Tenn. — Madison County Mayor AJ Massey says the county has allocated $2 million to the Jackson-Madison County School System to help with some capital projects.
Massey says the $2 million will help the school system vacate the central office property at 310 North Parkway so the county can resume control of the location for county purposes.
“The two million dollars was an agreed upon amount by the county commission to help the school system complete a capitol project or two that they had on the agenda and helped them speed that along so that they would vacate the Parkway building and could vacate it in the speedy manner,” said Mayor Massey.
The mayor says it’s unclear about when the school system will move out of the location but he estimates it to be around 2027.
