Military branches ask public to join ‘Mission Give’ on Giving Tuesday

JACKSON, Tenn. — America’s four military aid societies are on a mission to raise essential funds for service members and their families with #missionGIVE on Giving Tuesday.

The United States has four congressionally sanctioned military aid societies charged with helping more than 2.5 million active-duty service members, retirees and their family members in financial need. Each organization is a 4-star charity navigator-rated nonprofit that provides financial support to their service-specific clients through zero-interest loans, grants, disaster assistance, scholarships and many other needs-based programs and services.

“We started just taking, 1904, just taking care of widows and orphans and that has expanded as you can see, markedly, to take care of active duty and retired with a number of different capabilities. When you give to us, you give to those military members in need,” said Lt. General Robert R. Ruark, retired Marine Corps Veteran.
