‘Holidays Under the Peaks’ begins at Tennessee Aquarium

JACKSON, Tenn. — If you’re traveling to visit family and friends this holiday season, you might consider stopping by the Tennessee Aquarium if your heading to east Tennessee.

This year, the ‘Holidays Under the Peaks’ celebration starts Friday, November 29 through December 29. It is a month-long celebration at the aquarium!

During the week, there are programs held with educators. Families can learn about ‘cold-weather’ animals, like the penguins.  Other signature events include ‘Scuba Claus,’ who will dive into the water and swim with the animals each weekend.

“During the week, Santa Claus, he has to be up in the North Pole. He’s doing some work, making a list checking it twice, but on Saturdays and Sundays he makes that magical journey down to us here at the Tennessee Aquarium and dives at 2 p.m. at either of our river giants or Tennessee river gallery,” said Alison Pryor, media coordinator for the Tennessee Aquarium.

Also, the IMAX 3D Theater on site will have showings of the Polar Express, Moana and, beginning December 20, Mufasa: The Lion King.
