UPDATE: Adamsville Police investigating theft/shooting

UPDATE (12/18/24): Suspect in Sawmeal Restaurant shooting killed in officer-involved shooting in Arkansas

UPDATE: The Adamsville Police Department has released photos of the stolen vehicle involved in a recent shooting and auto theft that occurred on East Main Street near the McNairy and Hardin County line.

According to the APD, the shooting and vehicle theft is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no evidence suggesting the suspect is still within the Adamsville jurisdiction.

The vehicle, a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, was last seen traveling east on US 64 into Hardin County following the incident on 12/07/2024. The APD ask if you have seen the stolen vehicle, or have any information regarding this incident, call the police department at 731-632-1401.

ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. — Authorities are investigating an incident near the McNairy and Hardin Co. line.

According to a social media post by the Adamsville Police Department, officers were on scene at the Sawmeal Restaurant located on East Main Street near the McNairy and Hardin County line to investigate a vehicle theft and single victim shooting related to that theft. That victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The post continued by stating authorities are working to gather additional information to identify and locate the suspect. Police believe the suspect fled the general area by way of motor vehicle and could be in McNairy or Hardin County.

Authorities also released the following description of the suspect. Suspect believed to be a white male, possibly driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, silver in color. Direction of travel is unknown at this time.

Authorities say they are currently working to gather additional details.
