Dangerously Cold Today
Weather Update: Monday, January 20 —
Good Morning West Tennessee. We started the morning off with bitterly cold air in place most locations in the low single digits along with wind chills in the negatives north of I-40. A large and dense area of Siberian Arctic air will swing through the continental US through midweek. It will keep us in the deep freezer through Wednesday before we gradually modify and return closer to normal by later this week. The good news is that any and all precipitation this week will be associated with a Winter Storm along the northern Gulf coast. Some of the blow-off and clouds will sneak in on Tuesday, but overall the main story will be mainly sunny skies with abnormally cold temperatures. In fact, at no point today will the apparent/wind chill temperature be above the 20°F mark.
