JMC Library invites professor, musician to speak for monthly program
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Friends of the Jackson-Madison County Library hosted their monthly first Thursday program this afternoon.
Today’s presenter was Dr. Jeremy Tubbs, associate professor of teaching and area coordinator of music and entertainment at the University of Memphis at Lambuth campus.
Tubbs is well known in Jackson as a professor, professional musician, music manager, teacher and band leader. He has traveled the world performing and mentoring artists. The program addressed his research on the evolution of music in Madison County over the past 200 years.
“I think the Jackson music scene is growing still, even year after year, after year, after year, and we’re getting there brick by brick,” said Dr. Tubbs.
