Mid-West TN Genealogical Society holds monthly meeting

JACKSON, Tenn. — One local organization is encouraging residents to learn and preserve their family history.

The Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society held their monthly meeting earlier Tuesday evening. In the meeting, Madison County Archives held a presentation. The Madison County Archives offered researchers and genealogists a unique opportunity to explore the history of the people of Madison County.

We spoke with the president of the Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society, Ricky Long, who encouraged anyone interested in genealogy to join one of their monthly meetings.

“Just come one night, see what we do, listen to the stories that are told. If nothing else, we can help you know how to get started on learning about your family,” said Long.

They also accept volunteers. If you are interested, they ask that you are able to read cursive and also have good handwriting.
