24th Annual Jewel Awards return
JACKSON, Tenn.—One award ceremony returns honoring local business owners.
The 24th Annual Jewel Awards took place Saturday evening at Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson.
Sponsored by the Jackson-Madison County African American Chamber, the ceremony honors minority business owners for their hard work, dedication and years of service. Entrepreneurs are honored for 5, 10, and 20 years in business.
The event also includes live entertainment, a catered meal and a night of fun for those who attended.
Organizers tell us how this fundraiser will also benefit area youth.
“We’ve got two summer programs here in the African American Chamber. A ‘Follow Me into Business’ program and our STEM program. And this event helps these young individuals who are all here tonight to showcase their talent”, said Don McCorry. Executive Director with the Jackson-Madison County African American Chamber of Commerce.
The night also included special musical guest “Magi.”
