Walmart’s meteorology team aims to help keep shelves stocked during severe weather
JACKSON, Tenn. — While you’re out shopping for the essentials, one grocery store is making sure it continues to keep shelves stocked through the snowy conditions.
Walmart reached out and informed our team that their store has it’s own personal meteorology team. This team works to ensure that each community that may be impacted by the weather has the items it needs.
This is done by checking data from past storms to make sure those communities have items in stock that will help during a weather event.
“We’re looking at similar data that we’re well ahead, we’ve got everything stocked there that you’re going to be looking for. You also want to know that our associates are working safely — especially with winter storms and we’ve got one in northwest Arkansas right now where our storm managers are reevaluating road conditions and looking at all safety parameters, and they’re treating our associate safety as the number one priority,” said Tom Bedard, senior manager over emergency operations at Walmart.
Their team also makes sure roads and routes are clear so communities can have what they need.
